Tokyo 2020 : so far, so close

Japan is going to be the prime destination over the next two years in the sporting industry. Rugby will hold its world cup there from September to November 2019, the women’s handball its world championship in December 2019 and the apotheosis will occur in July and August 2020 with the Summer Olympics. VPI has already been working ahead for one year to manage these events and we have determined the following challenges to face:
– The housing is constrained by the density of population. The hotel rooms are mostly less than 14 m2 and have a high occupancy rate,
– Negotiations are long and sometimes difficult to decode. Language can be a barrier reinforced by cultural incomprehension,
– The size of the city of Tokyo: with its 13 million inhabitants it is time-consuming to move in this megacity despite top of the art public transport.
To support the media as they prepare for this global event, VPI has opened an office in Tokyo and offers tailor made accommodation and transport solutions.
