The Japanese Odyssey is over for the 20 national teams which competed in the 2019 biggest rugby competition in the world.

It was an epic story for the stakeholders: teams, organizers, broadcasters, journalists – but also for service providers such as VPI.

48 matches were scheduled in 12 cities. 45 took place during 44 days of competition. Our staff had the privilege of being there from the arrival of the teams, through all the competition venues, until the conclusion in Yokohama.

The support of the Anglo-Saxon and French media enabled VPI to fully experience this World Cup, with nearly 8,000 hotel nights booked, more than 700 transfers and daily vehicle hires managed, and a lot of fun shared with our clients. On a sadder note, our thoughts also go out to the unfortunate victims of typhoon Hagibis.

Our warmest thanks to all the media who trust us and to the teams fully invested during this long event.

However this has just been the first of three steps for VPI in Japan. The land of the rising sun has two other international sporting events ahead of itself: the Women’s World Handball Championship in December 2019 and of course the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
